Deforestation
One of the main greenhouse gases is CO2. Naturally a plant grows by taking in CO2 and converting it to oxygen. This process helps allot in decreasing the CO2 in the atmosphere, because trees can store a large amount of CO2 in their structures. A tree can absorb 13 pounds of CO2, and 2.8 tons of CO2 can be absorbed by only one acre in a forest. However, when the plant dies it releases the CO2 to the air. The procedure of cutting wood to increase the wood supply, and the unexpected weather conditions which cause fire and burn huge areas of the forests, is helping in the increase of the CO2 to the atmosphere, and it disturbs the balance of the natural CO2 cycle in earth. Now the earth is facing a problem in the loss of the forests, which means that there are fewer trees to absorb the CO2 from the air.
